About Prosocial Teams

ProSocial Teams was created by Julian King after more than 20 years working with groups and across agriculture, business, health, education and government.

At Prosocial Teams, we believe that at the centre of any successful organisation are high functioning teams. We aim to empower businesses by cultivating collaborative, productive, and resilient teams through a unique and innovative approach to team development.

We extensively research the current literature to ensure our solutions have the best chance to produce the desired result.

Prosocial is a broad term that describes behaviours that benefit or help other people, sometimes at a cost to ourselves. In the workplace it can be as simple as saying "good morning" to a colleague. In other instances it may be dropping your work to help someone else finish theirs. Prosocial work teams are more collaborative, productive and enjoyable to work in.

Laz's lane, prosocial team

About the photo

This photo is a great example of a prosocial community at work. This is a laneway in the suburb of Carnegie, Victoria, Australia. Laz's Lane was taken over by local volunteers and turned into an oasis of colour and vegetation from the busy traffic close by. Locally produced artwork adorn the walls and you'll also find a book library, a fairy box, figurine cabinets and a hopscotch grid. Laz's lane has inspired a number of similar laneways in the area. See some of the other great work by the volunteers here.

Team and groups

team building, respect workplace

We deliver workshops that establish an agreed set of behaviours that shift a team from a group of individuals to a collaborative team

respectful teams

The respect in the workplace workshop raises awareness about bullying and harassment and some of the ways to eliminate negative behaviours.

This session gives participants an understanding of their thinking preference and how this impacts their decision making and work. It highlights the source of a lot of conflict (i.e "how thing should be done") and how to minimise the impact of this type of conflict.

Acknowledgement of Country

In the spirit of reconciliation Prosocial Teams acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
